10 Dimensions of our world [video]

December 8, 2008 · 3 Comments

A little bit of brain exercise. Imagining the 10th dimension, or imagining dimensions above 4th which is time.

Rob Bryanton in this video explains what does 10 dimension of our world means. 1o dimensions are created by humans to describe the world they are in, taking it to the bounds of describing all possible universes within all possible times.

I wonder in how many dimension we can describe cyberspace.
If I am first dimension, connecting me to the other internet user directly is 2nd dimension (etc. email)… I’ll continue maybe one day :)

Oblong g-speak – The Spatial Operating Environment

November 24, 2008 · 1 Comment

Take a look at this interesting technology, mixing futuristic user control, environment awareness and collaboration…

Oblong Industries is the developer of the g-speak spatial operating environment.

The SOE’s combination of gestural i/o, recombinant networking, and real-world pixels brings the first major step in computer interface since 1984; starting today, g-speak will fundamentally change the way people use machines at work, in the living room, in conference rooms, in vehicles. The g-speak platform is a complete application development and execution environment that redresses the dire constriction of human intent imposed by traditional GUIs. Its idiom of spatial immediacy and information responsive to real-world geometry enables a necessary new kind of work: data-intensive, embodied, real-time, predicated on universal human expertise.

I just finished reading about The Hardest Logic Puzzle Ever at Wikipedia.

Reading about this amazing puzzle and whole sets of this puzzles now seems interesting and fun, especially when you read a solution. I recommend this brain gymnastics in the morning, why not :)

Better then Photosynth – Uni. Washington and Microsoft [VIDEO]

August 14, 2008 · Leave a Comment

University of Washington and Microsoft created together a software which looks like next step Photosynth. In project titled “Finding Paths through the World’s Photos” shown in video above it is presented what they’ve achived, like finding orbits that best displays objects in 360 views, optimised  transition between two photos putting natural set of photos inbetween so it looks more natural, panoramas, and interesting views which all makes you browse and get more natural feel with photos taken.

I am sure all of this features are made to be put into the Photosynth. Great stuff.
