Better then Photosynth – Uni. Washington and Microsoft [VIDEO]

August 14, 2008 · Leave a Comment

University of Washington and Microsoft created together a software which looks like next step Photosynth. In project titled “Finding Paths through the World’s Photos” shown in video above it is presented what they’ve achived, like finding orbits that best displays objects in 360 views, optimised  transition between two photos putting natural set of photos inbetween so it looks more natural, panoramas, and interesting views which all makes you browse and get more natural feel with photos taken.

I am sure all of this features are made to be put into the Photosynth. Great stuff.

Enjoying Singapore [pics]

June 4, 2008 · 3 Comments

I am in Singapore for one week already. I managed to get some time and cruise through the city. You can see my photos at Flickr . Hopefully I am getting very interesting job here so I can stay some time because it’s very nice, clean with pleasent people all around. Whole experience is so different from my home town Novi Sad in Serbia. If you have a chance you must come here. Good thing is that many other interesting places are near like Malaysia, Thiland, Indonesia and Bali and Sri Lanka, India and so on…

Lunam Docs – flash video site socially engaged and much more …

January 9, 2008 · Leave a Comment

First time my friend the showed me what he’s making I was pretty impressed, I can say speechless. That is the reaction of most of my friends that I send a link or personally showed Lunams work. Reaction is mostly about content – two movies Jurney of a Red Fridge (Coca-Cola fridge carried on by Hary, porter, one of 60,000 in Nepal through the mountin paths) and Punam (story about young girl Punam Tamang). Don’t miss this site, any of it’s part, it’s phenomenal…

About Lunam >

An independent documentary film production duo – Lucian Muntean and Natasa Stankovic. Their films Punam and Journey of a Red Fridge pay special attention to children rights and child labour in Nepal.

Site presents video and photography material, and few text on this interesting and not so known topic in our lifes. Technically site would be better if it’s done in AS3, but that doesn’t spoil the experience. This sites definitly deserves The FWA Award – mostly because of the attention it would make on web if it does.

Watch and enjoy -> Lunam Docs

Vector Magic – Stanford Vector tracing free online application built in Flex

November 8, 2007 · 3 Comments

Vector Magic is wonderfull Flex built tool for tracing image from bitmap to vector. It’s online and it’s free, which sounds wonderfull especially it got good critics on results. I’ve tried it myself and application is at really high level for Flex application. Maybe editing results of tracing could have more features but still amazing and you should try it. I think I will use it in many occasions.

Rope Trick Effect

September 13, 2007 · Leave a Comment

From Wikipedia: Rope trick is the term given by physicist John Malik to the curious lines and spikes which emanate from the fireball of certain nuclear explosions just after detonation.

Amazing photo shows this effect. Those damned nuclear explosions look pretty much interesting… Something magical can be found in this forms in space, but after seconds destruction is obvious so Earth experiments are very bad.

More about Rapatronic Camera, that recorded this photo can be found on simplethinking.com
