Interesting MS Surface “game”

April 4, 2009 · 2 Comments

Because creator did not allow embeding I must redirect you to the Vimeo to take a look at the interesting “game” made for Microsoft Surface. It’s called Genesis.

this is the quote from the video description

This is a deeper look at the 3D Microsoft Surface application we created recently for SxSW and Mix. Partnering with Microsoft, we designed custom ChromaDepth 3D glasses and distributed them to attendees of both events who wanted to try their hand at collaboratively creating a galaxy from scratch. It was a massive hit on the show floor.

very nice :)

3D Websites in Flash

June 6, 2008 · 7 Comments

As Javascript get capable more and more in competing with flash in transparency and transitions on web pages Flash is getting more and more serious about next step website interfaces. 3D is and will be a big part of new experiences on the web, and some of the latest site showcase it in great style.

Definitly one of the best 3D sites done in Flash is The Eco Zoo. It is surely great designed and very unique, with remarkable performance. Pop up books are so cool :)

Uniqlo hits it again with Uniqlo Try. Camera movements are really Uniqlo style, music and feeling at the site is great as always…

Third in series is Play > Smart, advertisement site for Benz-Mercedes mini car. Design of the website could be better as well as the texturing, but site definitly have a good catch with game mode and keeping score live.

Things are going in good direction, and I think web people will follow.

April 29, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Solitaire for Windows is maybe most played game of all times. I mean I saw it today on my rentgen of lungs, secretary played it :) Wes Cherry is the man behind it and he answers questions from b3ta.com.

I can pull one out

Have you ever been caught playing Solitaire in the office and passed it off as software testing?
(DoomedMatt)
There was a “boss-key” which when pressed would display some random .C code. Microsoft made me remove that.

CGSociety takes spot on Image MetricsImage Metrics has bridged the Uncanny Valley, developing a superior facial capture and animation system that creates
facial animation with far greater accuracy, as much as seven times faster than keyframing, and they only need video files and a facial rig and 3D model to get started. One of the latest production companies to take advantage of the new technology was Rockstar Games, producing faces for the ‘Grand Theft Auto IV’ game scenes”.

Concept car iQ – puzzle game, with excellent videos and design, very very addictive and interesting – Reveal The Secrets of The Cube

World Golf Tour – PGA.com Charity Challange – great golf experience

Michelin Super-G – great skiing game, not in Flash it’s Shockwave but that’s why it’s nice 3d, can’t wait for new Director 11 :D
